The 7 Best Places to Insulate in Your Homes

False Ceiling

False ceilings improve the aesthetics of a house, it hides the electric wires, air conditioner ducts and other fixtures. But it has its own drawbacks. False ceiling tends to heat up when the outside temperature is more than the room temperature, also false ceiling reflects sound waves, which creates an echo in the room. Insulating false ceilings is the best way to get rid of these problems. Various combinations of materials can be used on the top of false ceiling layer which would help negate the problems.

Attic

The space between the roof and the false ceiling in which air is trapped is known as an attic. If your house has an attic, insulating it would be a very good option because if there is an air leakage on the attic floor in winters, warm air would rise to the top and release heat outside in the atmosphere. This would increase the electricity bills as more energy is required to keep the house warm. The exact opposite would happen in summers.

Floor

Obviously, every house has a floor, it is an important structural part of any building as it connects two storeys.

Floors are usually made of RCC which is a good conductor of heat and also it lets all the noise pass through to other storey. The heat transfer would increase the room temperature and in turn increase energy bills. Insulating the floor of a building would be very beneficial as it helps in avoiding thermal breach and seal acoustic pockets created by the floor.

Doors and Windows

A house has multiple doors and windows, it helps protect the visual privacy of the people. But these doors create acoustic pockets, which cause acoustic breach and let sound pass through the door. Also, to your surprise, fire spreads around through doors and windows just as people use them to escape from the place on fire. Doors catch fire and block the exit. You may get severely injured if your doors are not properly insulated. A perfect combination of materials would stop the sound from passing through the door and in addition to that, it would protect you in case of fire.

Home theatre

Everyone loves to enjoy watching movies and playing PlayStation in their home theatre, which they made a heavy investment on. But what is the point of a home theatre if your neighbours get disturbed due to the sound or if your projector keeps turning off as the room gets heat up very quickly even if the AC is on. So, having a good Thermoacoustic insulation in your home theatre is quite necessary. Without insulation, your power consumption would increase and would add to the already high cost of maintaining the theatre.

Internal and External Walls

Walls of a building are usually made of RCC. As I told earlier, RCC is a very good conductor of heat and in summers it would be almost impossible to live inside the house without an AC. Also, RCC reflects sound creating echo or reverberation. If you want to create a good thermal and acoustic comfort in your house, internal wall insulation is highly recommended. In this case, a material which can provide thermal comfort and absorb sound can be used. Finishing material can also be applied to improve your house’s aesthetics.

Roofs

Roofs of a building are also made of RCC. As mentioned earlier in this blog, RCC are very good conductors. Also, RCC cannot block sound. Both heat and sound can get transferred to the adjacent floors if your roof is not insulated. A good combination of our products would help solve this problem in your house easily.

To conclude, insulating various parts of your house will ameliorate your living experience and will decrease the usage of ACs and heaters in your house. This would reduce carbon emissions and would be our contribution to sustainable development. Insulating your house is like a one-time investment. It helps solve various problems and in addition to that, finishing material improves the aesthetics of your house.
